Powered by our GeoBMS platform, our Tesla Fleet API driver allows a Niagara user to read/write points from multiple Tesla accounts with multiple Tesla energy sites. The driver can be installed either on a supervisor or a JACE. If you have energy sites at multiple locations, then the supervisor version is right for you. If you have energy sites at one location (serviced by one JACE), the JACE version may be right for you.

Details
The Tesla Fleet API Driver allows Niagara users to read and write from and to Tesla energy installations known as sites. There are two different places you can install the driver:
On a supervisor: If you have multiple sites that span many buildings, it may make sense to install the driver(s) here.
On a JACE: If you have one or more sites that are associated with only one building, it may make sense for you to install the driver(s) here.
Question: I have a Tesla app on my phone. Why would I want to install this driver?
Answer:
The driver allows a Niagara user to read/write points from/to a Tesla site just like points for other devices.
A Niagara user can also instantiate multiple drivers if there are multiple Tesla accounts, and each Tesla account has one or more Tesla sites. Thus the Niagara user can see all of their sites in the workbench.
Question: Why would I install the driver on a Supervisor?
Answer:
If you have multiple Tesla accounts with multiple Tesla sites at multiple geographic locations, it might make sense to install the driver on a supervisor. You can then pull the relevant points to each of your JACEs.
Question: Why would I install the driver on a JACE?
Answer:
If you have one or more Tesla sites associated with a single building, it might make sence to install the driver on the JACE that services that building. You can then pull the relevant points to a supervisor organized by building.
Our Tesla Fleet API driver allows the Niagara user to see energy sites as devices and points just like any other Niagara devices and points. The minimum requirements for successful installation and usage are:
Niagara 4.14 on a supervisor or JACE.
Energy site installation(s) and the ability to access them through Tesla user account(s).
The driver is based on the HTTP Client driver so you installation needs the relevant modules. If the HttpClientService is not installed on the station, we provide it in our palette, and it will need to be dragged into the station Services folder.
The driver provides a PX page to sign into the user's Tesla account(s). Specific URLs need to be accessible whitelisted. Instructions on how to do this are in the User Guide.
