Learn more about the Premium Developers.Candela’s Tesla Powerwall Time-of-Use Optimizer reduces electricity bills for Niagara users who have Tesla Powerwall installations and have utility Time-of-Use pricing. The optimizer consists of a Niagara Java module that sets up energy sites for optimization, and a web app for the user to configure, enable, and monitor the optimization of Tesla energy sites.
The optimizer uses the utility time-of-use chart to determine when the system draws power from the grid (off-peak times) and when to discharge the Powerwall to limit drawing power from the grid (peak times). The optimizer charges up the battery from the grid (and solar if available) during off-peak hours and discharges as much of the battery as the user allows during peak hours.

Question: Why do I need your Tesla Fleet API Driver?
Answer: Our Tesla Fleet API Driver lets Tesla energy sites be seen as a collection of read/write devices and points. There is no other way to currently access a Tesla energy site in NIagara, and the optimizer understands the driver protocol to read/write from/to the necessary points.
Question: Do I need a Niagara Cloud Suite/Niagara Data Service license?
Answer: You need a license if you are running the NCS/NDS version. Niagara Cloud Suite/Niagara Data Service allows Niagara devices and points to be read/written on a public website, and our optimizer dashboard is presented on https://tsla.geobms.io. You can run the on-prem version without this license. In this case, the optimizer dashboard is presented on https://localhost.
Question: Will you support other solar and storage solutions besides Tesla?
Answer: We will support other solar and storage solutions per market fit and customer discovery, but they will be separate driver/optimizer offerings.
Please contact support@geobms.io for any support issues.
