MQTT Service
The MQTT Service provides a fast and simple multi function MQTT based tools:
To build & publish customisable JSON formatted payloads for publication to MQTT Broker(s)
To subscribe to incoming JSON formatted MQTT Topics, with an automated deconstruction of the JSON payload and subscription to the containing ‘points’ of data.
The MQTT Service also provides internal MQTT Client connector(s).
The MQTT Service does not use and is not compatible with the Tridium Abstract MQTT Driver.
The Service is designed to make implementation fast & simple. Workload is automated as much as possible avoiding the use of slow to implement wire sheet ‘programming’ components.

Each license pack contains a bundle of Publish Topics / Subscribe Topics / Points. These can be used in any combination of Publish and / or Subscribe configurations. For Publishing, each control point configured will consume 1x MQTT Point License. If you had a 25 Pack License you could publish to 25x Topics with 1x MQTT Point in each, or 1 x Topic with 25x MQTT Points (or any combination thereof). Publishing does not consume additional Global Capacity Point License'. For Subscription, each Control Point configured will consume 1x MQTT Point License AND 1x Global Capacity Point License. The MQTT Service can be configured to monitor a specific Topic. Once subscribed to the Topic the MQTT Service will automatically 'de-construct' the incoming payload. The Point Manager will then allow you to select the specific parts / components of the payload to create Control Points from. These will then be subscribed and update based on Payload updates.

Question: Does the Service support Publish & Subscription
Answer: Yes. The service allows you to construct a Pulish Payload to specific Topic(s) The service allows you to subscribe to a Topic and deconstruct the JSON payload. You can the decide which parts of the palyload you want to subscribe to.
Question: Does the Service require a MQTT Broker to be available
Answer: Yes. A MQTT Broker will need to be availabel externally to the Niagara Station. The Service supports multiple broker secuirty configurations (including Google Core IoT & Microsoft Azure connections).
Question: What Security Configurations Does the MQTT Service Support?
Answer: The MQTT Service supports multiple security configurations:
All Tyrrell developed drivers include a software maintenance feature. Every new purchase of the driver will support the current release of Niagara 4 and the next release of Niagara 4, any subsequent upgrades will require a software maintenance license to be purchased.
As an example the current release of Niagara 4 is N4.13, a new driver purchase will cover you for N4.13 and a future upgrade to N4.14. Any further upgrades, for example to N4.14 or above, will require a software maintenance license to be updated. The software maintenance license would then cover you for the now current release of Niagara 4 (as an example N4.15) and next release of Niagara 4 (as an example N4.16). You can upgrade from any previous release with a single software maintenance purchase. Tridium SMA license features may also be required.
